ABOUT ME

Joyce Kondo
I acquired my diploma in multimedia design and production at City Varsity School of Media and Creative Arts in Cape Town. I did freelance gigs in Cape Town and Windhoek before landing my first internship – at Turipamwe Design, a multidisciplinary Namibian design studio – working on creative projects.
In early 2019, I started interning at The Namibian. I worked on advertisements before moving to the multimedia team and the Investigative Unit to do video work and to create graphics for the unit’s website and the daily paper.
I am motivated by the need for inclusivity and mobilizing creative spaces that will allow creatives to thrive at their optimal level. I tend to blur the lines between art and functional design because I use my art as a form of communication and I would rather not have anything restricting me while doing so.
However, I do understand that design is supposed to be understood and Art is supposed to be felt.
